An elusive butterfly
is she--
soaring into his world,
brilliant colors lighting the landscape,
once grey,
now shimmering
with hues of gold.
Drawn like a moth to the flame
he forward steps
to draw her close
and
pull her in
to drink of her colors-
deep pink - her passion pulsing within,
royal shades of blue -
her colors of love,
silver sounds - her laughter
as she flits so close and
then
suddenly
slips
beyond
his grasp.
For she is the
elusive
butterfly,
on wings already
evolved,
exploring, searching,
loving life
On gossamer wings
she flits
and floats
and soars
above a new found world
and all the beauty it holds in store.
Explore my colors
but capture me not!
for I am but
an elusive
butterfly
and again,
she draws
him close
-pushing
and
pulling -
the dance of two souls
but she knows his fire which
draws her near
would be a conflagration
that would
destroy her soul.
For beneath her
many colors
lies a purity of soul,
a deep unending love--
That zest for life that glows from
within?
It is THAT light to which he's drawn
yet
Someday -- he'll see
she was always
meant
to be
the
elusive
butterfly.
